Autumn Dinner at Saddlers' Hall, Oct 2018

​​​​​​​The 2018 Autumn Dinner was held on 16 October at Saddlers' Hall and the Company guests included the Master Plaisterer, the Master Painter-Stainer, the Master Mariner, the Master Chartered Secretary, the Master Information Technologist, the Master Spectacle Maker and the Immediate Past Master Distiller. The principal guest was Mr Daniel Szor, founder and CEO of the Cotswolds Distillery, accompanied by his wifeKatia Cikurel.

Quill Pen Reception for the Sheriffs at the Old Bailey,
Feb 2018

On 12 April, the Company guests at Cutlers' Hall included the Master Musician, the Master Apothecary, the Master Glover, the Master Chartered Accountant, the Master of the Guild of Scriveners of the City of York and representatives from our affiliated Royal Navy ship HMS Portland, our affiliated RAF Squadron, LXX Squadron, Brize Norton, and 'A' Company (London Scottish) The London Regiment. The principal guest was former Olympic oarsman, John Pritchard, accompanied by his wife Julie Williamson.














On 6 February, in the Judges' Dining Room at the Old Bailey, the Master presented the Sheriffs with the quill pens which they used to sign themselves into office, as well as Scriveners' fountain pens. He also presented a donation to the Sheriffs' and Recorder's Fund and the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the Karen Nehammer Handwriting Competition for Schools. There were 455 entries in total and those pupils present were the top ten entrants.


Quill Pen Lunch at Mansion House, Nov 2017

At Mansion House on 21 November, the Master presented The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor, Alderman Charles Bowman, with the quill pen which he used to sign himself into office. He also presented him with a pair of goblets commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Scriveners’ Royal Charter and the Lady Mayoress, Mrs Samantha Bowman, with a Scriveners’ fountain pen.
