Scriveners' Lecture for the Heraldry Society: The Heraldry of the Palio
Speaker: Scrivener Martin Davies
Chairman: PM John J Tunesi of Liongam
The city of Siena puts on a rich display of historic and modern heraldry in the ceremonies surrounding the Palio horse races.
Venue: Society of Antiquaries, Burlington House, Piccadilly. Time 6.30pm.
All Scriveners are welcome to attend. There is no charge or booking form. Just turn up!
The lecture will be followed by a glass or two of wine.

Speakers: Emma Oettinger, Senior Advisor, Risk, at Ashurst LLP and Martin Buchner, partner at De Pinna Notaries.

Mon 1 Oct:

Election of the Lord Mayor at Guildhall followed by lunch at Innholders' Hall.
Admission passes for Liverymen of at least one year's standing only will be issued on application, likewise places for lunch.
The usual form will follow.

Tues 9 Oct:

Visit to The Winter's Tale at Shakespeare's Globe, 21 New Globe Walk, SE1 9DT, 7.30pm.
Scriveners are invited to join the Master and Master's Lady for this performance.
A limited number of tickets only - please apply to the Clerk's office ASAP.

Tues 16 Oct:

Autumn Dinner at Saddlers' Hall, 6.30 for 7.15pm. A diary note and booking form has been issued.

Wed 7 Nov:

Visit to the 'Lost Treasures' Exhibition at Strawberry Hill House, a Gothic villa near Twickenham created by Horace Walpole.
His unique collection of paintings, furniture, sculptures and curiosities has been reassembled for the first time in 170 years.
The event includes a private guided tour and drinks reception, 6 for 6.30pm. A diary note will follow.

Thurs 29 Nov:

Annual Quill Pen Lunch with the new Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress at Mansion House, 12.30 for 1.00pm.

This is the first time in the Clerk's memory that we have held a banquet in the grand Egyptian Hall and it promises to be a very special occasion.
The Company will be hosting the International Union of Notaries, where the Master is a representative, and it is hoped that the Lord Mayor will attend.
